Using iKWL

iKWL User Guide

This 4th grade student is using iKWL on a Palm handheld to record what she already knows about falcons and what she wants to learn about them before we begin reading "Falcons Nest on Skyscrapers." As we read the story she will record what she has learned about falcons. Students love to use our Palms and look forward to lessons that include our handhelds.

Students enter text into their Palm with a keyboard. The first step is to create a list of words in iKWL which are then available on the Palm screen for reference when students enter their statements and questions about a topic. Students can beam their iKWL to their teachers and/or classmates. Students may also sync their Palms to PAAM and print their iKWL activity.
