Tasting a Persimmon

Our friends in Japan did not vote for persimmon as their favorite fruit in school lunches. Their teacher, Mr. Isamu Shimazaki, wonders why this is so. We do, too. We had never eaten a persimmon so our teacher brought a persimmon to school for us to taste but only if we wanted to taste a little piece. All of the students were willing to try a little taste. Most of the students in our classes like the taste of persimmon. It was very soft and was not bitter at all!

Dear friends in Japan,

I tasted a persimmon today. It looked like tangerine or oranges. It smelled like soy sauce. It tasted sour. I usually pack my lunch, but when I buy I get popcorn chichen. What do you get when you buy lunch? How much does it cost for lunch?

Your friend,
Jesse

Dear friends in Japan,

I tasted a persimmon today. It tasted like soft jello and kind a tasted like peaches. It looked like the color of a tangerine or orange. It smells like orange jelly. Do the kids have a lunch menu or do they just have to choose from the school? I usually pack lunch, but when I buy my lunch I like popcorn chicken the best. What is your favorite lunch at school?

Your Friend,
Kajol
P.S. How much does lunch cost and do you like persimmon?

Dear friends in Japan,

We tasted a persimmon today The persimmon looked like orange inside, and it smelled like tangerines. The persimmon tasted nasty. My favorite lunch is nachos with meat type sauce. What is your favorite school lunch? Mr. Isamu do you like persimmon?
