Integrating Curriculum Standards

In this Kidspiration activity, Delmar's 4th grade students compared the cost of a persimmon in Japan (98 Yen) with the cost of a persimmon in Wal Mart in Maryland ($1.28). They went to a currency converter online to find out which persimmon was more expensive. The students calculated the cost of 2 persimmons in the US and then did a problem about elapsed time. Multiplication and elapsed time are skills that 4th graders are learning at this time.
