Palm Technology Comes to Grade Two!

Mrs. Sandy Andrews and her second grade students are learning how to use Palms to help them communicate with their online friends in Taiwan. When these students can't find an open spot in the computer lab's tight schedule, they use Palms to type their questions and messages to their friends. They enjoy beaming their files, too! Casie, a 5th grade student, is helping Mrs. Andrews and her class use Palms as part of her Generation Y project. The letters the students typed on the Palms are below their pictures. Enjoy!

Miss Ana, the teacher in Taiwan, sent Mrs. Andrews and her students this message in response to some of their previous questions about "Red Pockets." Ana sent a Red Pocket for each student in Mrs. Andrews' class for the Chinese New Year.

Hi, Sandra!
How are you? How are your little angels?

Christine asked the kids the following question: "When parents take children's red pocket money, who do they give it to?", the answers are:

1- To another child: Parents need to give red pockets to other children as well and sometimes they can be quite a budget for a family. Therefore, they hold their kids' red pockets (given by other relatives or friends) and give them to other relatives' or friends' children.

2- To the bank: Some parents set up an account for their children and the put the money from the red pockets aside for future use.

3- To pay their school fee: You see? Children in Taiwan *make* their own money to pay for their own education.

Cheers!
Ana

These are the letters that Mrs. Andrews' class typed on their Palms. They had a great time and didn't want to stop...
