Making a Story Web

using Kidspiration

Betty's students began their story project with a trip to the computer lab to use a story web program called Kidspiration. The software helped them by providing a picture library, easy to use links between main ideas and details, and color-fill options to make main ideas stand out. The great thing about this program is that it also has a feature that outlines the ideas as the students build the visual web. This made the transfer of ideas to the rough draft easier.

Patti's students decided on a topic for their story after sending their list of ideas to Lois and reading her feedback. They used Kidspiration software to make their story webs. The students enjoyed this activity which helped them visualize and focus on the main components of their story schema.
