Role Models

Lois tells the students that she writes about what she knows and loves:

Hi Zachary,

"...When we get to the rewriting, and the editing, it won't seem like work if it is about something you love. That's why I write a lot of stories about horses, and ghosts! To me, horses and ghosts are exciting, and I like to read about them, research about them, and write about them!"

During her visit to Delmar, Lois told the students about her "ideas folder":

Hello Mrs. Szymanski,

Thank you for coming to our school I liked your stories about the horses . I liked the story and I learned how to make stories. I am going to make an idea folder.

Your friend,
Shelby

Hello Shelby,

I am happy that you are going to make an ideas folder so you can write your own exciting stories! Then, you will know how much fun it is to be a writer.

Your Friend,
:>)
