For Ms. Murray's class May 4, 2005 Dear Zanhi, We go to school 5 days a week. Here is my typical day. I wake up at 6:30 a.m. I get dressed, comp my hair, eat breakfast, and brush my teeth. When I go to school we have reading at 8:30. The story I like the best is the Titanic. It is a huge ship that sunk in the Pacific water. Then we go to lunch. My favorite lunch is chicken nuggets. We go to a special witch is P.E., Art, Music, and Library. After that we have science or social studies. We are learning about Maryland in social studies. Then we have recess. Outside we play soccer. Inside we play board games. Then we have math. We are learning about fractions. Fractions are fun. They have a numerator and a denominator. My favorite special is P.E. You play tag there. Then we have dismissal at 3:00. Why do they call the mountain table mountain?

Dear Chloe, We go to school 5 days a week. Here is my typical day. I wake up at 6:30 or 7:00 every morning. Then I take a shower. I get dressed. I eat breakfast. I brush my teeth. I go to school. School starts at 8:30. First we have Reading at 8:30- 11:00.We read about the Titanic. We learned that it sunk. It was sad. Next we eat Lunch at 11:00-11:30.I like the honey BBQ wings. Then we have a special at 11:30- 12:10. A special is like gym, music, library, or art. I like gym. Next from 12:10 - 1:00 is social studies or science. In social studies we learned about landforms, tundra's, lakes and rivers. In science we are learning about our state Maryland. Then is reces from 1:00 - 1:30.When it is raining we have inside recess in our portable. When it is not raining we have outside recess. I like the Monkey bars. Then from 1:30 - 2:45 is Math. My favorite thing about math is probability. Then dismissal at 3:00. I go to an after school program called The Kids Klub. We have snack then do our homework. Then we go out side the rest of the time Do you like to live in Cape Town? How old is Nelson Mandela? Is Nelson Mandela a girl or boy? What kinds of rides are in Ratanga Junction? Do you have bad weather like Tornadoes or Hurricanes or Tsunami's? We get Hurricanes and name them but I do not know about Tornadoes. The other side of the 50 States gets tornadoes. Were do you want to go the most here in Delmar?

Get dressed, comb my hair eat breakfast, brush my teeth, get my coat, and backpack, and get on the bus. I am at school now we have reading. My favorite story is Brave Irene. Then at 11:00 we go to lunch my favorite food for lunch is chicken strips. Then we have a special some of our specials are P.E., art, music, and library. Then we do reading. My favorite story is the Titanic. It was cool but very sad. It sunk because it hit an iceberg. Then we go to lunch. Then we go to our special and incase you don't know it is a class that we do activities. Our specials are P.E., which is gym, music, art, and library. And my favorite special is gym because you get to exercise. Then we have Social Studies and Science that is when we write to you and our unit is Maryland. At the beginning of the year we used microscopes and that is my favorite unit that went with favorite game is four square. Then we have math with measurements and more my favorite skills are multiplication and division. Then we have to go home. When I get home I play but I have to do my homework first. What is butterfly world? Is it a place with butterflies everywhere or is it a name of an amusement Park. Do you like birds because I love birds we have birds here to and some of them are Robins, Cardinals, and Blue Jays. Can we climb table mountain to see the great view you said about it. What is Kristenbosh.Is it a valley with flowers or a field or meadow because we have lots of flowers here and there is a flower named after me the name is Elijah Blue. We even have amusement parks here to and we have carnivals and fairs.

Then I go get my book bag. Then my mom and I go out to the car and she drives me to daycare. Then the bus comes to pick me up. When I get to school I have reading time. We are in theme What A Day! It was about a girl that took a dress to a duchess in the middle of a snowstorm. She has lots of troubles along the way. Plus, she loses the dress. But when she gets to the duchess she finds the dress on a tree. It's very interesting. We have English and lots of papers during reading. Then we go to lunch. I like the grilled chicken patties the cafeteria serves. We have a special after lunch. Gym is my favorite special. The other specials are Music, Art, Library, and have course gym. After the special, we have social studies or science. We learned about South America, Asia, Africa, Europe, and where I live which is North America. After science or social studies we have recess. I like playing 4-square it's lots of fun. After recess we have Math. In math we learned geometric shapes, how to add and subtract fractions, and how to make mixed numbers into improper fractions. We learned a lot of other things too. After math I get on the bus at 3:00.I sit on the bus with a girl named Shelby. When I get home I do my homework. After my homework I have to do my chores. After my chores I have free time. Free time is when I get to play outside or play games. Then I eat dinner. My mom is a good cook. After dinner I help my mom or dad. Then I might play with my sister. After that, I brush my teeth and go to bed. I go to bed at 9:00. That is what a typical day is like for me. I like how the world of birds sounds. I think table mountain would be really cool to go to.

Dear Samantha A, We go to school 5 days a week. Here is a typical day. I wake up at 6:00.My mom makes me breakfast and my favorite breakfast is fried eggs. Then after breakfast I brush my teeth then I get my cloths on and with a couple minutes to spare my bus arrives. I get into my bus and finally arrive at school. I unpack I go to reading in groups. And after I finish my book I write about the book I just read. My favorite book is called Lemony Snickets The Series Of Unfortunate Events. Then after reading and its time for lunch at 11:00.We finish lunch at 11:30. After lunch we have a special. A special can be P.E., Art, Music, and Library. Library is my favorite because I like to read. After library we have social studies. I like social studies because we demonstrate all sorts of things and learn about the world, and science is great to we learn about history and what the caveman did in early times. Than after social studies and science we have recess and we can play on the monkey bars or slide down the slides or swing on the swings and play kickball on the kickball field and play four square. After recess we have we have math. My favorite part in math is when we add, subtract, multiply, divide. Then after the afternoon announcements, the teacher starts to dismiss us to the buses or to be picked up by our parents so we can drive home. The car riders go first and then the teacher dismisses us. I ride the bus home, so I have to wait a little bit longer. Finally I get on the bus and the bus takes me home after the long ride I finish my homework, my mom arrives at home. She starts making dinner. I watch T.V. for the long wait. My mom is done with dinner and my family starts eating dinner. Then I play with my brother. I take a shower. Get my pajamas on and go to bed. I noticed that you would like to go to Table Mountain. So would I it would be great to see the clouds so close, maybe even touch them. It would be nice if we could ride a horse across the beach in the water.

Next is lunch my favorite subject just kidding. My favorite lunch is popcorn chicken or its nachos. Then special. Special is gym, music, art and media. My favorite special is gym and art. In gym I like to play doctor dodge ball. Do you know this game? In art I like to do everything! After special is either science or social studies. Half of the period is science and the other half is social studies. In both we are working on Maryland's Geography. After is recess! I like to do everything but I love to play kickball or a game where my friend's act and I like babies. After is math. We are working on what is in a chip. We dismiss at 3:00. I ride home on bus 140. When I get home I wait for my dad to get home and when he gets home we go out the outbuilding were our gym is. When we come in we have dinner and then I do homework from 6:30 to whenever I'm done. I take a shower, do my chores, play and all that and go to bed at 8:30. I got your letter and Rugby looks fun. I saw you like horse back riding and I've always wanted to try. Dear Sasha, We go to school five days a week. Here is my typical day. I wake up at 6:45. Next, I get ready for school. School starts at 8:30. When we get to school we until 9:30 and then we start Reading Time. We read lots of cool stories. At Reading we also do English until we go to lunch. Some of the things for lunch are milk, juice, cookies, ice cream, pizza, chicken patty, hot dogs, and cheese steak subs. Then we go to special .The four specials are art, P.E., music, and library. Then we do math we do lots of multiplication, division, Geometry and other stuff .My favorite is division because I like to divide numbers and is really easy. We do math from 1: 30 to 2:45. Finally, we pack our book bags and put in our homework. The Car Riders just leave after they completely pack. Then the bus riders leave when the second bell rings. My bus number is 140. When I get home I do my Homework, we have math, spelling, English Homework. After I finish my Homework I GO outside to ride my bike. I got your letter. What is it like at the Boulders beach? Dear Tegean D., We go to school 5 days a week. Here is typical day. I wake up at 5, 6, and sometimes 7or 6:30 or 5:30 in the morning because my mom is the librarian at my school. The first thing that I do is take a bath or a shower. Then my mom drops my dad off at work and then she takes my brother and me to school. {She comes too she works there.} My brother and I study for our tests and read books until the bell rings. When the bell rings I give my mom a kiss and huge goodbye. When I get to class I do my morning work. Then we have reading that is when we read books and talk about what we thing the book is about. But when we have an A, C, E days we write books that are in our reading books because we are done with them. And on A, C, E days we have lit circles. It is when we read books in groups but every one has the same books and we write in notebooks and there is a V.C, D.D, W.C, and a S.C. The V.C. is the person who looks in the book for words that we do or do not know to ask us what the meaning is. D.D is the person who looks in the books to find a good question to ask someone. W.C is the person who compares the story to their life. S.C is the person who tells what the chapter is about. And we change jobs at every chapter. After Reading we have Language, which is English, and we look in a book that tells us what we need to know. In English we talk about nouns. Um. . . .We do different kind of things we do in them we talk about I'll, she's. After that we have lunch you know what that means. Then we have our special. Today it is gym then we have science but when we have two specials we do not have science. After science we have recess is my favorite subject well it is not really a subject but it is to me. Then we have math in math we have Mrs. Hamilton teach us about food. It is cool I like it you would too. In second grade she gave us snack.

Dear Savannah, We go to school 5 days a week. Here is my typical day. I wake up at 7:00 AM. First, I pick out cloths. Second, I put shoes and socks on. Next, I brush my hair. Then my teeth. Finally, I go to school. I ride a car to school. While I wait for the bell I talk to my friend that lives down the street, Jade. When the bell rings 8:15 I go to breakfast in the cafeteria. Then I go to class. First, I do D.O.G, D.O.L, and D.O.P. Then I have reading. My favorite book I read in reading is The Titanic, Lost and Found. At 11:00 I go to lunch until 11:30. Most of the time I don't have enough time to eat. After lunch we go to a special. A special is P.E., Art, music, or Library. My favorites are P.E. and art. Then it's science. I like science because we're on the Maryland unit. Then we get to go out for recess. I love to play on the monkey bars. Sometimes I like to get on the swings. Other times I would just sit around and relax. After recess I have math. I like doing addition but we don't do it anymore. I got your letter. Are the aquariums funs? How many butterflies are in Butterfly World?

Dear, Nicola K., I go to Delmar school 5 days a week. Here is my typical day. I wake up 7:15 am. I make my bed, get dressed, brush my hair and hair, get on the bus, and go to school so I can eat at school. Then I go class and start reading a book. What I like about reading is we can get a chance to get to learn new words. Then I go to lunch and eat. My favorite to eat is barbeque chicken. Then we have a special.
