Global projects that encourage caterpillar learners, students and teachers, to transform their learning environments and mindsets into butterfly wings...

  1. Kidlink projects
    1. Kidlink's KidSpace - an environment within Kidlink that is designed for publication of student work by students.
    2. Grandmother and Me - Pamelaa multi-lingual, KIDPROJ, long term project about grandmothers around the world. Students celebrate across cultures, languages and generations. The project encourages students to send art and writing samples in their own home language as well as English.
    3. Who Am I? - an 8 month program divided into 6 individual modules. Each module contains lesson ideas and resources. Classes may choose which modules they wish to join.
    4. I Have a Dream - a year long program which encourages students to act now on their dreams for a better world. Each module in the program contains lesson ideas and resources. Students are encouraged to join in the beginning of the program and remain until completion.
    5. Kidlink Day - Students around the world write a journal for an assigned day. After writing and posting the journals students are encouraged to organize and analyze the data they see within the journals of other students.
  2. Math in the Global Classroom
  3. Special needs students work together online - Delmar and Cape Town students collected weather data and discussed the oiled penguins off the coast of Cape Town after the sinking of the Treasure in June 2000.
  4. Mentors Online - experts working with our students
    • Authors in Residence - a six month mentoring program funded by a Title VI grant. Children's author, Lois Szymanski, worked again this year with six Delmar students as they wrote a story with her online mentoring.
    • Antarctica - Two scientists engaged in satellite tracking at McMurdo wrote to our students during a whole school year and into the next.
  5. Subscribing to Kidlink mailing lists
