Today, the mother of one of my students came to share her immigration
experiences. She was born in Chuk, moved to Saipan at the age of 9, then back to Chuk at 19, and most recently to Hawaii this year. Having talked about our culture, the students were fascinated to learn about Chukese customs, beliefs, language, and geography.
