What does your picture tell us?

Our friends from Rinkan Elementary School in Japan sent us this very nice picture and asked us to write a story about it. Delmar second graders wrote their stories and we sent them to Japan.

pirates

Once upon a time there were 5 boys with strange heads. There was a pirate behind them. The pirate had a big sword. The fruits names are strawberry, pear, lime, squash and green peper. They were going to an island. They thought it scarey. They had striped shirts. They had odd shoes. They had odd shorts. It was sailing. They were going to an island. The pirate left and never came Back!!!!!! They were happy.

Dear Friends in Japan,

You did a good job on the picture. I think the fruit people are going to eat the pirate up. The fruit peoples' names are cherry head, pear head, lime head, green pepper head. The pirate is trying to get their ship to sail away to the volcano so they cannot get him.

Your friend,
Thomas

Dear Friends in Japan,

You did a good picture. I think he's going to make fruit salad out of them. I know that they are going to fight back. The green pepper is going to get chopped up. The cherry head is going to get eaten. The fruit people are going to eat the pirate. The pirate is dead.

Your friend,
Ryan
