When you read "The Letter" think about these questions.

  • Why was Toad sad?
  • Frog and Toad sat together on the porch in the beginning of the story and at the end. Did they feel they same both times? How did they feel?
  • What did Frog do to make Toad feel happy?
  • Who did Frog ask to help him with his plan?
  • Describe a time when your friend made you feel happy.
  • What is a best friend?
  • Write a letter to your best friend.
  • How can we be friends even though we are so far apart?
