More Fun with Math Puzzles

We are Mrs. Crass' First Grade class at the Maurice Hawk School in Princeton Junction, New Jersey, United States of America. We are in Mrs. Vellensky's computer class now. We are going to make up some math puzzles for you. Here is our challenging math puzzle: The wheels on a big rig truck, plus the legs on an insect minus the points on a snowflake. We hope this is not too hard!

Hi Mrs. Crass' class,

We solved the math puzzle. The answer was 18. This is how we solved it. First, we figured out how many wheels are on a big wheel truck (18), we checked the dictionary to find out how many legs there are on an insect (6) and last we figured out how many points there are on a snowflake (6). We found about the snowflake by counting the points on a picture. 18 + 6 = 24. 24 - 6 = 18 We hope that this is the correct answer. We will try to make a math puzzle for you tomorrow.

Hello,

Here's a puzzle for you.

Friday was Groundhog Day. Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow. Take the number of weeks more of winter, add it to the number of days in February. Subtract the number of feet in a yard.

Your friends,
Gunnar, Tevin and Darell

Hi,

My name is Myles and I tried your problem:

6 more weeks of winter + 28 days in February - 3 feet in a yard = 31. Am I right?

Myles
