Use a variety of library resources.

Hear or read literature that represents a variety of cultural perspectives and eras.

Patterns of attitudes and behaviors

Describe and explain traditional and changing lifestyles of people in various regions of the world, including Hawaii and the Pacific.

Construct reasoned judgements about persisting societal issues across time and cultures.

Relationships within and among places, people and environments.

Explain, use and apply geographic themes of location, place, human-environment interactions,movement, and region. Define, use and apply elements of scale,symbols, and direction in the creation and use of maps.

Demonstrate the use of geographic tools and resources (e.g. maps, atlases, computer bases, Pacific navigational charts).

Identify and evaluate alternative uses of environments and resources.

Production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services in subsitence, command, and market economies.
