Some Have One Wire and Some Have Two, Why?

Dear Mr. D.,

Hello!! How are you? I'm fine. This is Stephanie. I would just like to thank you for coming to Delmar. That was a great presentation that you gave. I learned a lot. I am still not sure why some pacemakers have to have 1 wire while others have to have 2 wires. Can you explain this to me?

Please write,
Stephanie

Stephanie:

Let me clue you in about why some pacemakers have 1 wire and others have 2. Pacemakers try to make the heart beat just like a heart that doesn't need a pacemaker. The top chamber beat first, the bottom chambers beat last. Pacemakers with 2 wires cause the top chambers to beat first and the bottom chambers to beat last. Just like Mother Nature (almost). Some people only need one wire, others need two.

Keep asking the good questions.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Your KeyPal,
Mr. D

Dear MR.D,

This is John again. What foods are good for you? Thanks for coming on Friday. You were cool. I wish you could come again this year, because I am going to 7th grade next year. Well got to now. BYE BYE!!!

Your Key Pal,
John
P.S. Please write back

Hey, John:

What's cookin' pal? What foods are good for you? Well, green and yellow vegetables (the general rule is - the worse they taste, the better they are), low fat milk (less than 2%), lean red meat, poultry (chickens come to mind), and fish. Of course if you're asking what foods make you *feel* good that's another story: Chocolate (yummy), cake (with milk), candy (ummm). Naturally these *feel good* foods also make you fat, give you zits (pimples, yuck. Scares the girls away), and rot your teeth. I think I'd go for the vegetables. Remember, a good diet is no good without good exercise to go along with it.

I wish I could come back, too.

Your Same Birthday KeyPal,
Mr. D
