Beate and Sigve

at Eydehavn School

Teacher, Tor Arne Richvoldsen, and his students at Eydehavn School in Arendal have been wonderful keypals for our students at Delmar Elementary School. At Chrtistmas they sent us their greetings and an ASCII Christmas tree.

The students in the photo here returned to school in the evening for the KIDFORUM "Blue Print Earth" IRC. We were so happy to chat with Beate and Sigve. Listen to this sound file (.wav 181K) as Tor Arne tells us who these students are.

Tor Arne also sent scenes from their city of Arendal, Norway. and also photos of the students playing games.

Here is his message:

"Hi there... In Delmar & Texas.... Puh, did I have my day today ????? YES!!! First of all - lessons - all 6 of them Two lessons, 5. & 6. 5th grade arraged a "crazy" days of "athletics" where we had a lot of strange relays - like this :

3girls & 3 boys in a row... each with a short match in their mouth.. (you can't use a lighter) ;-) You put a ring on the match of the first in the row, and he/she runs across the room and back. Then the difficult part comes... The first boy must pass the ring on to the next (girl) without dropping it on the floor - and you can't use the hands.... The picture game.jpg tells it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you know that all Norwegians are born with skies on their feet ? Well, and we practice as often as we can... When the weather is bad, we train inside... The skiers.jpg shows how we train... The keyword is cooperation and team-spirit....Hope you like our pictures....
