A Promise to Visit

Hi Rhae,

I am very impressed with your report. You did a very good job.

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Kaley,

My trip went well. I am home for the holidays now. I get to go again on January 10.

Thanks for writing,
Dave

Hi Heather,

Thank you for the invitation. I will be visiting you school before I go back to the ice. I have some pictures and maps to show everyone. The weather we had in Antarctica was not that cold, because it is summer there now. That means the temperature climbs to about 35 degrees.

I read something about a trip where the people were going alone. Possibly this is the race to which you are referring. I am sorry but I have no information. When I go back, I will see if I can find any information.

Thanks for writing,
Dave

Hi Cate,

I will come visit your school before I return to McMurdo. Antarctica was a good experience for me. I was working some long hours, so I spent lots of time over the Holidays just eating and sleeping. I am all rested now, and ready to go back.

Thanks for writing,
Dave

Hi Stephanie,

I have been well. I did get home late on December 22, and I will return on January 10. I will visit you school and bring pictures and maps. I even have a few books that I will leave with Ms. Weeg to pass around.

Thanks for writing, Dave

Hi Nickle,

I am doing fine and having fun being home for the Holidays. I saw your home page, it is very nice. Did you make your own page? I am glad you got to go to Baltimore and show off the work you are doing at school. I hope you were not too nervous.

I had a good time in McMurdo, and in New Zealand. I also learned many things while I was there, that will help me do better with my job. While I was in McMurdo, we had engineers, from the company that built our equipment, working on the equipment to get it into shape.

Thanks for writing,
Dave

Hi Holly,

I am doing fine, getting rested up from my trip. I am not sure if I remember you, because I met many people in the short time I visited. I will be visiting again, so possibly we will meet again.

I saw some seals while I was in McMurdo, but I am not sure what type they were. They would come up through holes in the ice, and lay in the sun. I have read that some seals can chew through the ice to make holes to breathe.

Thanks for writing, Dave
