2650 Performances!

Dear Elizabeth, Krista, Julie, Ashley, C Christopher, Stephanie , and Caitlin,

I am so happy all of you enjoyed the show. It was a very special day for Mrs. Wills, Mr. Wills and myself.

Elizabeth, we have written 31 different shows for children and done over 2,650 performances.

Krista, I'm glad the pies sounded good to you. It was hard trying to think up a name of a pie to cover every letter of the alphabet. Try it yourself and see how you do.

Julie, we always try to include some kind of "educational" aspect to our shows or try to teach a moral. I hope you will always remember how important it is to stay in school and get a good education.

Ashley, I know what you mean our visit to your school certainly became a Thanksgiving tradition--just like turkey--and we will miss you all very much. It took a while for me to figure out how to end the show and have Simon get his money back. Then I read again the last verse of the actual poem, which has him fishing in a bucket--and presto the idea of "catching a cold" came to me.

Christopher, your comment brought a real smile to my face, because you have discovered the key to being a good performer--BE HAPPY IN WHAT YOU DO...and you know what that is the key to a good life also. I know you and the chorus will give a wonderful performance.

Stephanie, yes our own children used to perform with us (they are now 23, 21,19) and some years we had other youngsters also with us. Every show is different--in some you do have to change the scenery and in others the show takes place in only one location.

Caitlin, a super poem!! I particularly liked the verse about how the shadow couldn't play hide and seek, because of the position he's in he would always peek. What a clever thought!!

I have a challenge to all you younguns. Work together and send me a list of homonyms (words that sound alike, but >mean< something different, but don't do it in a >mean< way (homonym!!). Also do you know any idioms--now come on and answer me, Don't tell that "cat's got my tongue"(idiom!!!)

Your friend,
Prospector Parker
