Our Favorite Part of the Play

Dec. 2, 1996

Dear Prospector Parker,

Thank you for coming! Thank you for asking me to come on stage. THANK YOU A LOT! My favorite part is when Simon tricked the pieman. I learned that it is important to stay in school! Simple Simon was not simple at the end. Why because Simple Simon tricked him.

Paul

Dear Prospector Parker,

Thank you for coming. My best part was when the baker kept telling Simon what he had. I learned to stay in school. I don't think Simon was simple at the end because Simon sneezed and the baker said you caught a cold and Simon said I caught a fish ?

Cameron

Dear Prospector Parker,

I really liked the show it was fun. And thank you for coming. I hope I can see you again. And thank you for calling us to the stage. I liked the part when he would said what he would like to eat. And he would say that the very first thing he would say was what he wanted.

MARC

Dear Paul, Laura, Cameron, Abbie, Susan

Thank you all for your lovely notes. I'm happy we had the time to call you on stage to recognize your hard work. It is important to stay in school AND to do your very best. Your work in computer class sure shows that you can do excellent learning and writing.

It was fun thinking up those silly things like "are you pulling my leg" and having Simon do it...remember that is an idiom and what does it mean???

Susan and Abbie, you asked where you could see us perform. Well, we will be at The Carousel Hotel again this summer and as soon as I know what show we are doing I'll let you know.

Cameron mentioned that his favorite part was when the pieman named what he had. Can you name a type of pie for every letter of the alphabet? Try it.

Or can you think of any other homonyms or idioms other than those we used in the play?

Dear Marc:

I was happy to call you on stage with the rest of the wonderful children who wrote to me. I thought it was funny too when Simon kept asking for the first item that the Pieman said. I tried hard to think up a name for every letter of the alphabet for the pies and drinks. Did you notice that? Do you think you can ? Try it.

Your friend,
Prospector Parker
