Minting

Dear Kids,

Mint is a place in the United States that mints or makes coins. A lot of other countries call it minting too. The government is the only authority that can mint or make money. The mint or minters are supervised by the Bureau of Mint. There are mints in Denver, Philadelphia, San Fancisco, and West Point. The mints only make coins like, pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, silver dollars, and half dollars. The Bureau of Engraving and printingmakes paper money.

Historians think the world's first mint was founded in the 600's BC in Lydia. Lydia is now part of Turkey.
