"The Internet in Education"

Susan, Beth and Wendy are mastering e-mail.

Agenda:

  1. Introductions and expectations: After we introduce ourselves and shed all anxieties about using the Internet we will talk about our expectations for this class. I want to be sure to give you the skills that you want to have as you use the Internet with your students. At the moment these are my hopes for you:
    • You will learn how to use e-mail.
    • You will begin to build a network of friends who will work with you on the Internet.
    • You will be able to search successfully for information on the WWW.
    • You will bring the Internet into your classrooms by using it with students for research and also for projects.
    • You will encourage at least one more teacher in your school to bring their students into the global classroom.
    • I want all of the above to be fun and as painless as possible!
  2. NASA Video Global Quest II
  3. Tour of The Global Classroom
  4. The Basics of Netscape E-mail
  5. Replying to Mentors
