Our Friends Clare and Lisa

Our Friends Clare and Lisa

From The United Kingdom

The two sweet children in the picture are seated in the foyer of the Cedars School in Hounslow (our twin school) where their mother is an assistant in Oak Class. During my visit to London in March I was happy to meet the girls and their lovely mother, June. Clare and Lisa sent letters to Ashley at Delmar through regular postal mail. Ashley always loved to receive mail from her friends in the United Kingdom.

Thursday 16th March 1995.

Dear Patti,

I hope that you arrived home safely. It was a real pleasure meeting you. The girls were delighted to have the opportunity of meeting you as well. Mike tells me that Ashley's mother is pleased with Clare writing to her. We have assumed that Ashley is a girl, please let us know if we are wrong.

Take care and Clare will look forward to hearing from Ashley soon, goodbye for now

from June

Cedars School.

Dear Lisa and Clare,

I see your pictures that you made Miss Weeg and they are very very very pretty and I see our bookmarks and they are all so pretty too and I also think you are very very very very very very very pretty too. How was your Christmas? Mine was great! How old are you? I am eight years old. What are those drinks in the pictures?

Your friend,

Ashley

Ashley is proudly holding the presents she received from Clare and Lisa.

Dear Lisa and Clare,

How are you doing? I am fine. I went to the circus and that was very fun and I saw some houses and an elephant I got to ride the elephant it was not very fun. There were people walking on balls when I saw that I thought that if I tried I would fall off ! NOW I HAVE TO GO BY!

P.S WRITE BACK

YOUR FRIEND, ASHLEY
