After the First SS Central America IRC

Jamie,

The Delmar students who joined the 'shipwreck in a bottle' IRC on Monday had a great time talking to Bud Butterworth. We knew you were involved with the two classes setting up their experiments. Bud answered their questions and they were fascinated by the whole topic. I showed them the articles you sent me about the SS Central America and its disaster.

Stacey was cute when she was asking Bud what your kids had put in the bottle. My kids knew the that idea was to put objects in the bottle that are similar to those that probably went down with the SSCA. She told him we didn't have anything gold so would he please send us one of the gold coins from the ship! ;-) Nice try, Stacey!

Today was only our 4th day of school this year so we are still ironing out bus routines. The girls are eager to have their science teachers help them set up their 'shipwreck in a bottle.' By the way... I have a copy of the logfile if you want it.

Here's a note from the kids:

Dear Bud, Thank you for giving us a lesson about the shipwreck. We really enjoyed it a lot. Could we do it again sometime? oops we forgot we are not going to be here next year. We are going to be in another school !! ( Yes!!!!!) The only thing bad about it is we won't be in computor anymore,AWWWWWWWWWW! WHen do you want to talk again ? Well we have to go !! P.s Please write back.

Yours Truly,

Rachel and Leslie

Betty and Stacey
