AHS Internet Use Policies

XIII. Library Internet Policy
A. An Internet Access Student Application form will be issued to students by the subject teacher assigning students to use the internet as a research tool.
B. Forms may be obtained from the Media Center Librarian.
C. Permission forms must be signed by the student and a parent.
D. Teachers will return completed forms to the librarian for processing
E. A permanent Internet access card will be issued. Please allow 5 working days for processing cards.
F. The Internet card will be valid until the student graduates or leaves Aiea High School.
G. Students must present the Internet card together with a school ID before he/she would be allowed access the Internet.
H. No student will be allowed use to the Internet until the application forms have been completed and filed with the librarians.
I. There will be a $1.00 replacement charge for lost cards.
XIV. Disciplinary Action for violation of acceptable use policy.
A. Students failing to comply with the policies described in the State of Hawaii and Aiea High School Internet Access Regulations will be subject
to disciplinary action.
B. Student may be denied access to the Internet.
XV. Teacher Responsibilities
When using the Internet as a research tool, teachers will assist the librarians by:
A. Reviewing the Internet Access Regulations with his/her class prior to the library visit.
B. Supervising students during the class visit and to monitor students from accessing pornographic or inappropriate web sites which violate the Internet Access Regulations.
