Hi!! How are you ? I am fine. Do you have any other information about the volcano ? If you do will you send me some ? We saw Mt. Erebus. Isn't anyone scared because the volcano is only 25 miles away ? I would be freaked if a volcano was only 25 miles away!!
We had to do a autobiography in Reading And it was due May 20th, 1996 or the 29th or the 22nd. Anyway she assigned it to us on Thursday April 18th or Wednesday April 17th (96 of course) and I finished it the same night but I decided to do it again. Well, Bye!!

Hi Ashleigh,
I am doing fine. I am not sure why Mount Erebus is showing off the last few days. I did not see it today, but I heard it was putting on a show again today. I have never seen it smoke this much since I have been here. It may be due mostly due to calm winds. Most days it is so windy that the smoke blows away instead of moving up. I did go into the Erebus Observatory yesterday to look at the seismic charts. There were no big quakes that I saw, just a bunch of little ones. If I find out any more information, I will let you know.
I think it is very good to get your homework done as soon as it is assigned. So many kids let it go until the last minute. It looks like you better find out when it is due so you can get it in on time.

HI!!!!!! Did I tell you that yesterday was Earth day?? Well, now you know. Do you celebrate Earth Day??? Yesterday we were supposed to watch the movie Fern Gully, but my teacher, Mr. Polk, wouldn't let our class.

I did not know that yesterday was earth day, thanks for letting me know. I did not celebrate earth day, but then again I did not know it was occurring. I did celebrate the first earth day when I was a kid, and it was not the day the earth was created, I am not that old. I am sorry that you did not get to see the movie. I hope there was a good reason for not watching the movie.

I fogot to tell you in my last letter what FERN GULLY was all about see what happens is about this forest and then careless people come into the forest and cut down most of the trees, but then the animals in the movie tell him how important the trees and the forest are and then the forest grows back thank goodness!!!! so that was good and that is what FERN GULLY is all about, he learned how impotant the earth is and it ends happily ever after So what are you doing today? I am just great. How is your crew doing. Have you talked to your son at all. I think that it would be very hard to be away from someone that you love. I could not stand begining away from my family that long. Got to go

Hi Casie,
Fern Gully sounds like a good movie. It sounds like the movie was a good story, and also taught a good lesson. Today we had a ceremony at 1:18 PM. They took the flag down in front of the Navy Building. At 1:18PM, the sun set on our little town, and will not rise again until August. I am glad I brought a flashlight. It is not as bad as it sounds, because it was still light enough to see when I walked home at 4:30 PM. The sun is very low in the sky, and takes a very long time to set.
My son Zach is doing fine, but has missed a lot of school lately. He has been out with the chicken pox. It is hard being away from my family for a long period of time. That is a price I pay for coming here.

I am doing fine. I am not sure when I will be going back to the states. It will be sometime between October and December. You have seen some pictures of glaciers and do not even realize it, if you have seen some of the pictures I have sent to Mrs. Weeg. They are big white areas of ice and snow. I took some pictures earlier in the year when I attended snow school. I sent the film back to my wife, and she got them processed. I hope she will get them to Mrs. Weeg soon. There are some good pictures of glaciers in those packs.

How are you doing today, it is night where you are [check date] I am writing to you from our classroom compter. Oh I almost forgot see someone donated a whole lot of compters to Mrs. Weeg and Mrs. Weeg gave them to the classrooms, so if you run out of seats in the compter lab you can go to your classroom so that is pretty cool uh, it is cool to have a computer in your room but we have two and a printer that is even better. Got to go to class

It is night here more the next four months. I told you about it in the earlier note. Having more computers in your school is neat, you are getting 2 notes from me in one evening. I hope the kids thanked the people that donated the computers. I am sure they would be glad to know that you are putting them to good use. I have heard that there is a list for computer lab many times, so having more computers helps.
